VZW Storm1 for Storm2

OK... getting ready to get my 3rd Storm1 with VZW in less than 7 months, mainly due to dust under the screen and touchscreen problems with BOTH of the first two Storms.

The VZW rep said I could get a Storm2, but I would have to pay $269.99 for a refurb unit!!!

How can I go about getting the Storm2 without paying that? Shouldn't VZW replace my Storm1 with another comparable product at no charge if I continue to experience the same issues?

6 months ago that was the policy to switch the customer from the Storm 1 to 2. But being everyone and their mom just called and wanted a free upgrade to the 9550 they put a stop to it.

If you call and are very nice to the rep on the phone you might get lucky. I definitely wouldn't ask about it though, because the rep doesn't need to give you anything but a 9530.

and vzw isnt gonna just upgrade you just your phone gets dusty... be serious.

Wow... yeah, actually they will. It is a well documented problem with the Storm1 that they can get dust under the screen which will affect the touchscreen's sensitivity and accuracy...

Just sayin...
