Default Today at Verizon Wireless

I was at the Verizon Wireless store trying to return the replacement Storm that they sent me, but I didn't need the replacement so I sent it back.

So I thought I'd share my thoughts on the Storm 2.

I got to play with the Storm 2, and well, was not very impressed with it. The screen feels slightly different, but it's hard to tell if I was clicking on it or not. I set the phones settings to what I have my Storm 1 set to and I was able to type just as fast on it. I don't like how the four bottom buttons are part of the screen, that was probably the one thing that really turned me off to it.

I thought about upgrading to the Storm 2 but now I'm not so sure about it, since it feels like the same exact phone with nothing different. I know that it's got wi-fi, but I would never use it. It's got more memory that I'll never use which I don't understand why they just don't release a patch that combines the application memory with the on board memory.

I know the Motorola Droid and the HTC Droid are coming out in a few days and I'll check them out. One of the Verizon reps said that he tried both of them and liked HTC's droid better than the Motorola, said it was a lot smoother.

I love my Storm 1, it's the best phone and my first Blackberry, but I don't think I'm gonna upgrade to anything newer yet. Maybe the iPhone (with much reluctance and hesitation) if and when that comes to Verizon in the future.

I've yet to play with a Storm 2... I'll probably go when the htc and moto are out and just mess with all of them.

I would upgrade to the Storm 2. But only for the discounted price. Or the off the truck price, lol. I love my storm 1 and it was my first blackberry as well. I dont think I would ever feel comfortable using a blackberry without touchscreen, kind of like going backwards.

i like the Storm2.

a friend of mine just got his as his first blackberry cause i showed him the improvements that were made with the 5.0 OS with my Storm1.

he didn't like the Storm1 before that.

But after I used it for a couple hours and was comparing it to mine, i feel like the screen is what it should be. The device is snappy and seems to run vary stable.

Now for how will the OS will be a few weeks from now, time can only tell.

(my friend isnt the type to stay up on hybrids or anything like that, so it will be taking the normal everyday use that most phone users will do. So im excited to see how it fars out in a month)

I wasn't all that impressed with the Storm 2 either - while i think it's better than the Storm 1, I just don't think it's worth paying extra.
