Default Storm (9530) Battery Drainage?

Started a new job recently and my Storm has been acting very oddly in my office. I've always charged it every night, but now when I'm at work the battery drains within a couple of hours. I also have to pull the battery a couple of times a day while at the office. I'm in a small- to medium sized urban area and in which I've never had a problem with the phone. Any thoughts? Is it roaming and killing off my battery or could there be some signal or other electrical issue with the building? Thanks.

It could be several things, but try updating your roaming capabilities by dialing *228 then choose option #2.

Depending on the age of your phone and battery, it may also be the battery starting to go. There have been a lot of posts for 18 to 24 month old phones having the battery go, especially when they have had a lot of charges.

I have 2 storms and 3 batteries....

Somehow all 3 batteries have become failures. 2 are originals that came with phones in February 09 and were in regular use till November/December 2010...a third was from Asurion replacement.

These batteries have a certain life...only so many charge cycles until they die.

Miner were working decent until we stopped using them regularly when we got Android phones...but I keep wanting to go back to my blackberry at certain times.

2 of my batteries won't even boot up the storm anymore.....I measured them on a volt meter and they are dead. My third one works but usually when the phone draws some current suddenly, like when downloading an app or even making a call, the battery suddenly drops from a full charge and the phone crashes......when I reboot it shows that it's basically dead. This battery actually appears mis shaped right now....not sure what caused these batteries to die....perhaps using the wrong charger or just a crappy assurion replacement....I thought maybe it was one of the Chinese leaked OS but I doubt that.

I found on Amazon new storm batteries for $2.99 with free shipping....I ordered one.

Amazon.com: BlackBerry DX-1 Original Li-Ion Battery for BlackBerry Curve 8900, Tour 9630, Storm 9500 9530 and Storm2 9550: Cell Phones & Accessories I am curious if they are any good though....they are supposed to be brand new OEM batteries but I see some complaints in the reviews.....

Verizon sell them for $39.99 Set Your Location
