Replacement Storm not working

Ok so I dropped my old storm and cracked the screen a couple months ago and this week I got around to replacing my storm through assurion. I got a new phone in the mail, I transfered all the information from my old storm via my backed up information on my blackberry desktop program, I put the verizon card scandisk card and the new battery in and charged it over night. It seemed to be working fine until I tried to send a text message this morning. The number on my phone is "111-111-1111". I may just be ignorant and forgive me if I am but what could this mean. Is my verizon card not being reconized, is the phone itself broken, or is there something else I was supposed to do that im just to stupid to have noticed?

did you ota the device *228 opt 1 for programming.
if that fails, we may need to do some man programming on the phone, call us at 1.800.922.0204 from another line, if no other line is available, take the device to a store location where they will be able to call.
