hiding the keyboard

so I just installed the 5.0 update and love it except for one thing- whenever I click on my sms's to read them, the keyboard pops up and I get a small screen to view them on as opposed to the full screen. I know i can just hide the keyboard, but I hate having to do this all the time. Does anyone know a solution to prevent the keyboard from popping up every-time i try to read a text?

I have looked everywhere and have not found a solution, please help

Sorry no fix for it. Just swipe it away when you open.

If you exit the convo with the keyboard active it will be there the next time you open the convo. If you hide it then exit the convo the next time you open it, the keyboard won't be there anymore.

I set the virtual keyboard to my left-side convenience key, real quick way to get rid of the keyboard.
