Help! Storm Problems

I bought the first storm, 2 weeks ago and have had no problems what so ever, until tonight about half hour ago. I was in the middle of txting some friends and it turned off completely and i pulled the battery out and plugged it into the charger and it flashes a green light when on the chargers, but when i try and turn it on the buttons light up and the screen will light up black and turn back off. Im not sure sure what is going on and im new to this site. When i pull the battery and put it back in the red light will flash the buttons will turn on then nothing.? Does anyone have any advice or know whats going on and how i can fix it?

I did some reading on the forums and tried taking a picture and it worked it flashed and i headrd the camera sound but nothing on the screen. so the screen must not be working properly? i had my frined txt me and i heard the sms sound go off but the screen just still lights up black.
