Question Any thoughts on device switching

Posting here because I will once again be a Storm owner. Had original launch storm and was a terrible experience. I've heard lots of good things about the 5.0 update fixing issues. I really miss the screen PERIOD just want that big ole screen back.

My theory and please let me know if you have any better ideas. I plan to use my Tour for work during the week. I want to switch to my Storm for weekends because it's far better for surfing the web and just overall easier to use. It's not as disasterous if the Storm should lay an egg on my personal time. I don't think that I have to do "device switch" on DM every time because google sync takes care of all my calendar and contacts etc. Just need to make sure all the applications I want are on the Storm. Does this plan sound like it will work? The reason I'm not giving up my Tour is because I need my phone to be completely reliable for work and based off my personal experience with 5 storm replacements and still not a reliable device I'm not willing to make that switch.

Now all this depends on the used Storm I bought on Ebay working perfectly like the seler says it does And believe me I am really looking forward to it working. I played with Android and it is amazing but not sure if I can give up my push email.

It is easy enough to switch your service back and forth between phones I think. Just call *228 and press option 3 to switch phones. I know that works on regular phones but not sure about smartphones.

Assuming the above works you will still run into a wall as far as your apps are concerned. They are attached to the PIN of your BB. It is possible to switch am app to a new PIN by contacting where you got the app from but doing so every weekend will not work well.

I think you are just going to have to pick a BB you want to use and stick with it.

True enough! I know I want the best of both worlds but I'm not worried about apps. they only ones I've got are free apps so I can just download them to the storm as well and that part should be taken care of. I'm seriously thinking of the Storm 2 but am so far away from upgrade that they may even have another version by then.

That's a lot of work IMO every Monday and Friday. While the Device Switch Wizard worked flawlessly for me, I only ran it the few times I got a new BB. OS 5.0 will make your Storm run the way it was intended, yes it has a few issues, but which BB OS doesn't? Try upgrading your Storm to 5.0 and using it excluvely, just make regular backups that you can restore to your Tour if the Storm bombs out on you.

I think he is right. I tried the Droid and thought about keeping it and doing what you suggest because of work but like he said, it will get old pretty quick. I would just run the 9530 and have fun. the .328/428 OOAKPDC hybrid make the phone run real nice. I have been playing with the S2 for a little while at the Verizon store but I can not make myself pull the trigger. Not enough difference from S1 for me other than wifi. I am steady at 36 mb plus and for most part phone works alright.

OK guys I activated phone and switched this morning. The device itself seems much better than the one(s) I dumped back in April. I haven't taken a phone call or taken a picture so don't know what if any improvements made in that arena. So far though I'm liking it.

Which OS is your Storm running? I took the plunge into the MTS 5.0.0.419 OS this morning and so far it's much better than Verizon's 328.

A couple of tweaks have to be made, but overall, I wouldn't go back to VZW's official 5.0
