Where to save a new OS file?

So I downloaded the new OS (V5.0.0.797) but when I start up the Desktop Manager and click to the App Loader and then Update Software, the new OS file does not show up in the list of available updates (or downgrades).

Maybe i have 2 options:

A) Move the file to wherever the APP Loader "Points to"
B) Change the APP Loader to "Point to" where I have my new OS file saved.

Thoughts/suggestions?

If you downloaded the .exe run it and install it to the default directory. The issue with your DM not seeing the update could be due to a vendor.xml file.

Download that file, it is BBSAK 1.7 and install that. When it loads, connect your phone to that and click install OS. Follow the instructions on screen until you come to the screen with a bunch of boxes with check marks. On the top it should say blackberry 5.0 software or something, highlight it and view the modules. If the modules say 5.0.0.797, then your phone will be upgraded and continue checking the boxes you want and proceed with the install.

I downloaded that file, went through the update process, and viewed the 5.0 modules. I did see 5.0.0.797 so I guess it's working. I'm updating now I believe.
