It is really impossible to know if VZW will release any new official 5.0 OS for the Storm1. However, the Storm1 will not get the 6.0 OS. The device simply lacks the necessary amount of memory to run 6.0.

If I had to guess I think Verizon wants all the Storm I owners to switch over to a Droid or a Storm II - they have invested no interest in continuing to support the Storm I... If another OS comes out I will be very suprised.

Will Storm 2 get OS6?

are the storms the last big touchscreen berrys?

I can't stand the 1/2 and 1/2 screen/keyboard style that all the rest are.

5.0.0.808 is not a 9530 OS. Where did you see .808 at?

With regards to a Storm 1 update from Verizon: its possible but no one has any idea as to when it actually might happen. So at this point, your guess is as good as mine, so there isn't much use in guessing.

With regards to the Storm 1 or Storm 2 getting the upgrade to BB 6 (a.k.a. OS 6): again we don't know anything at this time. Its highly unlikely we'll see it for the Storm 1, but no one has yet confirmed that conclusively. There's a reasonable chance we may see it for the Storm 2, but again, no one knows for sure (and anyone who does claim to know is a bold faced liar unless they work in OS development for RIM, and even then, they can create but there is no guarantee the carriers will update).

Basically, the questions being asked here are all questions without clear answers at this point. Anyone who says yes or no to any of these questions doesn't actually know anything.

.808 is the package version for .419. OS version is actually 5.0.0.419.

Unless you count 4.7.0.181:

I got a Storm 1 in February '09. Last month Verizon offered me an early upgrade to a HTC Incredible for only $20 early cancellation fee. I don't know if this is standard Verizon policy or if they want to Storm 1 users to abandon ship.

BTW, I find the Incredible, though not without flaws, superior to the Storm 1. Now that the Droid X is being released and I'm still within the 30 day period, I plan to exchange the Incredible for the Droid X.

It's an early upgrade offer, only available if your monthly plan (data and features not included) is greater than $49.99.
