Upgrading Issue to 5.0.0.328 (9530)
I'm currently on a provider (SaskTel) that doesn't yet have the 5.0 OS for the 9530. I'm wanting to use this OS but I've been struggling with upgrading it.
I've downloaded the device software (9530AMEA_PBr5_1_.0.0_rel508_PL4.2.0.128_A - the 5.0.0.328 OS) and installed it on my computer. Once I installed it I deleted BlackBerry Internal Apps 5.0 application then deleted the Vendor.xml file (from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader). I then ran AppLoader.exe and tried to perform the upgrade. I get to the point where I'm presented with a message that says:
The blackberry Desktop software does not have blackberry device software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator.
I'm unable to perform the upgrade. What's the scoop? - 01-09-2010, 11:24 AM

Make sure you do not have any other OS loaded on your computer. Go to Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Shared/Loader Files and see what OS folders are listed. Make sure the OS you are trying to install (328) is listed. If any others are there, then go to Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and delete them.
Be sure to try to install from AppLoader using Loader.exe and not DM. Also be sure DM is not open. - 01-09-2010, 05:26 PM

Thanks for your reply DJM1947 but the problem involved the Vendor.xml file. I'm running Windows 7 and the Vendor.xml file needed to be deleted in both of the following locations:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
C:\Users\(USERNAME)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Pro gram Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
After deleting the file out of both of these locations I ran the Loader.exe located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and it worked fine! - 01-09-2010, 05:28 PM #5
BIG TIP O the DAY!!! I'm on sasktel also, and I put .419 from MTS on my storm. It works flawlessly, and... drum roll... the browser works !!! There was some kind of service book issue that did not let my browser work on .328, only WAP internet. 419 is less buggy and rock solid stable.

first backup the phone with DM , then the 3th apps with BBSAK
then you have to wipe the device, with BBSAK, and click on the Load OS button on BBSAK, it will load it and you'll be fine, but the wipe is nessesary, because if you dont do this it will say there is no Os or it just doesnt load the os... just try and you'll see it works!
