Default update email password?

I have no idea what I'm doing, just so you know!

I just got an email from donotreply@blackberry.com that says I have to update the password for one of my email addys, and instructs me to either go through the email setup application on my device or visit the Blackberry Internet Service web site. Unfortunately, my Storm refuses to connect via the email setup app and I have a mac that won't allow me to work on the web site...and why the heck do I suddenly have to update my password now, and only on one of my 3 addresses?? I tried to navigate through the blackberry website and found myself thoroughly confused...

Anyone have ideas?

Good afternoon.

I just got the very same message and am having the same issue in connecting to the email setup app.

I did visit the Blackberry website and found where I can access my providers Internet Service Website (mine is Verizon) but I am not certain what my user name and password is.

Anyone know what is going on?

Hope to hear from somebody soon.

Yes...my account is a Hotmail account.

Sorry for asking the next obvious question but how do you validate you account. If it is done thru the Email Setup App then I'm somewhat stuck as it will not respond and eventually returns a Retry or Cancel option.

It's a problem with BIS...I'm having it too. I already refreshed my password for Hotmail a few days ago because it needed to be reset, but now there's no way to access email settings. When that's the case the problem is with BIS.

i got an email about a week ago telling me to confirm my password, so i did. why am i still having this problem??

The issue is because MS did some updates. We had like 500 calls today for that issue alone at my center.

I am having the same problem not able to update my password. it is a hotmail account cannot connect via my black berry and cannot find where to on the website via my pc. HELP

mine is a hotmail account..
i think my problem is with the BIS though because my browser is loading EVERYTHING but that just like normal. AGH

Same here...I have no problems with anything else on my device, just the ability to receive email. Wonder if we just have to wait it out and it will resolve itself or if we need to do anything.

I was finally able to open up the email setup!!!! After aprox 4 tries it finally accepted my password and successfully opened my mail back up, it was a company account using microsoft exchange servers.

I am also able to now get to the point where I can enter my Hotmail password but the password is rejected as invalid. I am certain that it is the correct password as I use it everyday.

Guess I just need to continue to be patient....

I can't believe how dependent you become on these things...I guess that is why they are called a Crackberry....

I still haven't been able to log in through set up, but went through the website. It's still telling me my password is invalid. Hopefully this is fixed soon.

This is what i did today, Problem Solved
Called Verizon today and they have numerous calls on this. MS Switched servers last night which made RIM to send out a email to everyone to update there passwords. I got through doing the OTA password but it gave me a invalid password message. So, I deleted that Hotmail account and re did email wizard. It Worked perfectly and my previous Emails were still there...

For some reason I never thought of deleting the account and re-entering it....DOH....
I just kept putting the password in until it accepted it.
