Default Unlocked Blackberry Storm (T-mobile) "Sim Card Rejected"

Hi I've read up on the different forums but I've gotten no luck on finding what I need.

I have a Unlocked Blackberry Storm 9530 and I am using it on the T-mobile network.

I've been using it on T-mobile fine for about a month with no problem, then out of nowhere I get "Sim Card Rejected". I've read up on the solutions but none of them work for an Unlocked Blackberry Storm 9530 for T-mobile.

Help would be much appreciated because I am totally stuck out this point

Try to wipe and reinstall the OS, do not add any applications, just stick with default and the after reboot you should be able to talk and sms. Otherwise it might be a hardware failure.
Good Luck.

Sim card could be bad. I have unlocked my Storm as well. I put an old Tmobile sim card in that had been cancelled and it said sim card rejected. I tried the sim cards that my next door neighbor has for Att and Tmobile that are active and both worked fine in my Storm. Check to make sure that the sim card is still active.

Good Luck.
Thanks for the reply, I will defiantly do that, and while I am reinstalling the OS do you recommend upgrading to 5.0?

Thanks as well, I have T-mobile Unlimited Data, Sms, Calling ect. and the sim card was active and working on the phone flawless up until now. But I will try to get a different sim card and see what happens.

Steelermole is right , I forget about the sim card. you should find someone to lend you his sim and try it.

And in your case I will highly recommend you to stay away for now from upgrading to v5.0. you are not in the position to do experiment with 5.0. once you fix your sim card error, do whatever you want to do.
By the way do not upgrade, do a clean install, I mean here wipe and do a fresh install from the scratch. this will get you the best result out of the OS.

Good Luck!

Thanks. How would I go about wiping the OS clean? I'm more iPhone savvy but the Storm is promising so I've been using it (and loving it by the way) but I am new at it

On your phone: go to "Manage Connections" then "Mobile Network Options"
Change the "Network Technology" from "1xEV" to "GSM/UMTS"
Hit the return button save your setting and you should be now on T-Mobile.
Please understand that will allow you to Voice and Text, but for Internet and MMS you have to reload the Service book.
Search this forum for an article "how to get internet and mms working on t-mobile" and follow the steps in that article and you should be set.
Good Luck.

That depends on who you have service with. If you are a verizon customer in good standing you can call and get an unlock code from them.

You can also purchase an unlock code. Be careful to do some research as sometimes the codes do not work.

For both of the above you can do a search on unlock code and you should find plenty of information.

Alternatively, you can go to berrymods.com and follow the information on the web site, after you do the free registration, and you can get a free unlock code.
