howarmat, thanks for being my support man for this thread. I've been busy working and hitting up Ottawa Bluesfest to have time to maintain it!

Lol...it'd aggrivate me too if I knew what the heck I was doing! Buuuuut, since I don't, I can say this...most of them have too many links. I just did 151 and I had to start a thread for help....6+ open browser windows was just too much for me!

I was able to successfully upgrade using this guide. The megaupload link works great and was very fast.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together!

It's very nice of you to write a tutorial, however after reading it, I find that as a new user, I would never attempt to upgrade on my own strictly using this tutorial. There just simply isn't enough information in your tutorial for someone who's never done this before. Examples:

"Ensure that you remove any previous OS installation files from your machine."

What machine? Your computer or your BB? (Just using the correct terminology would be helpful in clearing up confusion.)

Where are these files supposed to be located (path)?

Remove previous OS installation files? What files would these be specifically and how would you get them off your BB?

And then there seems to be the ongoing argument of whether or not to use DM to do this or not ...

That's as far as I got, I'm off to find a tutorial that gives me more info before tackling something I have never done before. Please don't take this as criticism. Just a newbie afraid to tackle something she's never done before without more specifics.

Sorry for the noob questions but I have done 3 OS upgrades and this is the 1st one I have had problems with.

I disconnected from the internet, and I still only get .65 .75 and .148

I went to my control panel and deleted the device software and ran the software I downloaded from Megaupload.

I am getting really frustrated, the last time I did an OS update it couldnt have been any easier.
