Storm keeps shutting off (Running .113)
Hey Ive been noticing over the last few days that my Storm keeps randomly shutting itself off. As far as I know the battery is good and the only thing that I think has changed is I upgraded to .113 about a week ago. Is this a common problem? Thanks.

yes it is a bug, time to replace your storm.

I think it's safe to say that we all have to deal with our phones shutting off. It's the nature of a computer to glitch when we don't want them to. I'm running .113 and it's shut off on me no more than when I was on .75. Admittedly, it does shut off at stranger times, like when I'm taking a picture or when I start the browser, but it's not out of the ordinary.

Try reconnecting to DM and updating again. Every time I have done it something updates and it runs much better afterward.

My .113 is perfect. Ive never had a shutdown, honestly.
But If I do get the occasional shutdowns, it probably won't bug me.
Im just wondering how hard it can be for RIM to stop releasing 5000 new versions every week, and just focus and fix ONE. - 04-09-2009, 09:18 AM #8
Said it once...I'll say it again. There is group of storms out there, I know because I had one and replaced it, that have something wrong in the hardware that causes reboots. Not to say that random reboots due to software do not happen because they most certainly do with ANY computer or smartphone. But if its happening to you more than say 2 or 3 times a day, I would say its time for a replacement. $.02
