Default S1 is 20 Months Old...

...And I am still enjoying the S1 experience...mainly because of the numerous upgrade opportunities provided by Crackberry including leaked OS and numerous hybrids. Unfortunately, it seems the number of active S1 aficionados has decreased significantly in the past 3-6 months, based on my unscientific observation that there are far fewer posts about the Storm1. Technology leaps are a great thing...alas, I will be moving on in the next several months but will stick with Verizon...just not sure what phone I will move on to...either stick with BB, goto Android or really jump ship and consider an iPhone if it ever comes to Verizon. (some people call me indecisive...I can't decide if they are right )
Kudos to Crackberry for making the Blackberry experience a nice sojourn.

There are many threads dealing with this topic. You might want to do a search on NE2, Android, Storm 3 (or S3), or Storm 4 for some insight into your quandary. I am in the same boat and, based on recent rumors/lack of information from RIM, have made my choice.

My Storm completely ruined my impression of RIM and their ability to remain competitive going forward. I got an insider demo of OS6 a few months back from one of my clients and I knew right then I had owned my last BB. I made my decision a few months ago, I 1st bought the Incredible which I sold for more than I paid for it and now I own the Droid X which has turned me into an Android fanboy ***still love my 3GS though, best appliance I've ever owned***

This is one case where the grass is definitely greener, I have no idea what happened to RIM.......

Not another I hate my Storm thread. Blackberries, Storms...whatever phone. Every person is going to have their own preferences on phones. Some like this...Some like that. Whatever floats your boat and makes you happy.

....and I Love my Storm, Storm2 and can't wait for the Storm Trilogy.

Count me as someone who still digs my Storm1. Even though there are a ton of things I find annoying about it, It's still my favorite smartphone of those I've owned.

That being said, if the iPhone came to WZW, I would look long and hard at switching.

I've stuck with my Storm 1 as well. It's just sad though that this was supposed to be the best touch phone on Verizon. This was the flagship and not even 1 year into the phone's life, they trashed it and already started working on the 2nd model, Torch, etc. I'm disappointed at RIM for that, but damn, I love my Storm 1. It's a love/hate relationship. I don't get to upgrade until May 2011, so hopefully the 3 will have come out by then. I really don't want to switch, but I just might have to. My phone is dying, and it'll probably give in soon. Until that sad day comes, I'm gonna stick right by my Storm. It's getting the job done.

I played with an Android the other day to see what all the fuss was about and see if I should switch. NO WAY...the phone is quick and has some cool features but there's something about it I just don't like.
I'm waiting out the storm to see what happens. I still like my Storm2 way better for right now. My only complaint is the slow browser... But if they release a new Storm that runs the new browser...then that's my next phone.

Phones are like dogs. They age quicker. Our storms are actually over 11 1/2 years old. Wow. No wonder they're slightly behind in technology.

They didn't trash the storm after a year, that's just normal product cycling. There were clear issues with the storm 1 that the storm 2 did better. Apple changes the iphone every year too. And Android phones get changed around even faster, it seems.

I've had my storm for almost 18 months, and for the most part its met my expectations.

Got my Storm 1 as soon as it came out and still have the same one! I've dropped my phone plenty of times and even gotten it wet before and its still going strong. Although the software was buggy and a bit slow at first it's definitely come a long way. The leaks are probably the best part, I'm actually about to install .797 right now .

Ive had 5 storms since february 2009 but this phone is great to me still.Despite the torch offering higher processor speeds and Os 6 its not so great in my eyes.Im not critizising or hating the torch is a great piece of technology but it doesnt have surepress. To those of you who love a regular touch screen to each his own.I love surepress I dont sit around complaining like everyone else in the forum because I've mastered the surepress so to me its second nature its so good to know u can highlight something before you select it.Im already on att tho so if the S3 comes out its gonna cost me but who knows what'll come next i cant go back to a small screen thats nuts and the torch is great but i want tos ee what happens to ppl who have it in the next few months and see if its true to what RIM claims....then maybe ill pick one up....
