Problem updating os! close to throwing phone ha

Hey I have looked and couldn't find a solution to my problem, I have a storm 9530 and im trying to upgrade to os 5 (i havent used this phone in a long time) and my phone is unlocked so i cant get the update from wireless. When i download it and run the apploader it goes through the 3 steps and then it says nothing is there and my phone just goes back to the home screen. I have deleted the vendor file and still no luck. someone please help!

I know this sounds pretty basic, but did you install the OS to your computer after downloading it? Also, be sure DM is not open if you are using apploader.

Can't you use Device Manager to upgrade to 5.0.0.328? I'm not sure why having an unlocked phone would interfere. It's not the latest OS, but it's stable.

Make sure you remove any previously installed OS builds from your computer beforehand... control panel > add/remove programs > look for BB x.x.x etc

you may need a wipe which helps.
