| | Please read this if you are having issues with 5.0.0.140 OS
Ok so im sure some of you know this but I figured I would spell it out for the others.
When RIM designed the OS they did not design it to work with any 3rd party apps or themes (correct me if im wrong please). And when the carrier tests the os they dont load 3rd party apps or themes on the device ( again, correct me if im wrong ). They just test the OS on the bare device. So I suggest for all of you that are having issues with 5.0.0.140 please try this:
Delete all themes and use the stock zen theme
Delete all 3rd party apps even though you might think it works it could be causing problems with the os.
I did both of these things and Im having 0 issues. Before I did this I was getting all kinds of errors, reboots, etc etc.

What's the point in having a bad azz OS if you can't do anything with it though? Come on, NO third party apps makes it a message machine and phone...that's it. Maybe more research needs done to the specific apps that are the trouble makers and get a list going for people, if its not all of them. In the mean time ill rock on with 151.

I was having all types of issue when I upgraded. So I am using the Zen theme for a week and 0% Issues! Last night I forgot to plug in my phone, which at midnight was at 15%. I woke up this morning and it was still at 15%, go figure, this is a first. As far as third party apps, come on Verizon and RIM, get it together, this is suppose to be an IPhone killer! Not sure they are seeing to constant adds all about APPS. As far as the themes I bought, the developers promised they would be compatible in time with new releases, so lets get them out to us, we payed!

I have NO problems... I like the stock theme cuz of the speed. I have opera mini, capture it, dynostorm, wells fargo, bank of america, stormgrounds wallpaper. They all work. I use opera to visit myspace... Also have bbm 5 with no problems. For me this os tops all!

First of all... its a leaked version of a new OS so don't expect all of your apps to work prior to an official release.
I upgraded with the leak yesterday and had several issues. Every time I tried to delete multiple emails the phone would hang with the "deleting" message on the screen. I lost a few apps and functionality of others as well.
I did a few battery pulls and it seemed to get better with each one.
This morning I did another battery pull and every single issue seems to have been resolved and the phone is working perfectly now to include the free version of Quick pull.
The free Youmail app does not work yet but I'm sure that's because it was designed for 4.7 and I expect an update from them soon. went back to the Zen theme but the aftermarket theme I have is still on the phone (undeleted) and I will try it again soon. I never used BBM to begin with so I'm not worried about that.
I didn't delete the vendor xml file during the installation nor did I delete the RIM tools folder. I did have to de-activate the Quincy email function though.
That's my story and I am sticking to it!

I can't believe people get pissed about this.

Heard that paul. I just have a good time messin around with the different OS. If you don't want to play stay off the field. In other words, stick to the official OS and don't worry about the rest of us. lol

WRONG!!!!!
It is up to the app developer to make their app work with any system. From Windows to BB it doesn't matter.
There have been countless times when I've had to fix something in one of my apps just because MS changed something.
That is the life of a developer. Period.

While you're very right about this topic; you're showing logic, and for most people that come here, they don't want logic they just want to either ***** and moan, or have someone hand them everything on a silver platter.
