Default Please answer me this question

Why am I able to type so quickly when I read an SMS or email through third party software programs, such as Message Peek, than I can if I just respond to the message through the native bb apps?

I would guess because those apps are optimized for the storm while, the original apps are not. They work for us, but weren't originally made for our phone from what I gather, the OS was just kinda put together from the existing OS's instead of a stand alone versions. Most good apps have stand alone versions that were built just for the storm.

That sounds good until you figure that this would require the app developers to bypass the BB OS's input system and create their own. Assuming it's even possible, since it would require interacting directly with the Storm hardware, it would be no simple task to undertake.

My thought would be that it's all in the OP's head. It's amazing how malleable our perception of reality is. What we think happened, and what actually happened, are rarely the same. I'm not saying that the OP is lying or doing anything wrong. I'm just saying that my guess is that maybe one or two days you were just in a "zone" and typing really well on the Storm, and you just happened to be using some other app at the time. So you innocently, but incorrectly, made the association between the two mentally.

Sometimes there are cases where there's a very distinct difference. Input on the web browser is often quite a bit slower than say email. That is likely due to a need for some further optimizations on the web browser, and not just it's rendering speed. But most of the time, I tend to think a lot of the differences people claim are simply in their heads.

NO, it is definitely not in my head. I am runing the .114 hybrid and if you are too, try message peek (its a free trial). When you are replying to messages through it, you are given a larger keyboard and have had several people try it and all say that is is a night/day difference. But it goes through the native apps and is definitely not using an actual 3rd party sms/ email platform to send and receive. Check it out first before you say it's in my head...
