noob OS update question

Ok, I have spent the last 4 hours trying to figure this out. I got the reload software 552 error. So I figured I would upgrade to 5.0 from Verizon's site.

After it loaded, everything was great, until the backlight went out. Once that happened, I got the black screen of death.

As long as I keep the back light on, the OS is great. But as soon as it dims, I have to do a battery pull.

I have NO idea how or where to go to make this right. Now that I have seen some of the updates in 5.0 I don't think I can live with anything less.

Try a full min to two min pull on battery. If that doesn't work I would wipe your phone with bbsak and reload completely. Erase all BB stuff from your pc. Download fresh and try again. Check out one of the hybrids .451 or 464 they are really nice!

Also do you have it passworded? You might want to look at those settings first. Maybe its locking your phone. Idk! Hope this helps

A hybrid is basically when someone takes different files from different os's and mix them together. Usually taking the best files from whatever os to make phone run better. They are unofficial so if you ever need a tech from your carrier look at your phone you should put on an official OS. But you'll never need to cause you got crackberry! Now to install one of the new hybrids you need to dl the 419 OS first run the .exe install to your pc then dl the hybrid such as .451 .464 when you do the .exe on this it will ask you to copy the files into 9530amea419 folder. Click yes and it does it on its own. Then you have to use the apploader not desktop manager to load it to phone. If you have ? Pin me I'm not on messenger. 3099e8b3. Good luck

Ok so apparently my Storm wont let me run anything other than 4.7.148. If I try anything other than that, once the backlight goes out the screen stays dark until a battery pull.

Tried loading a couple hybrids after using bbsak and still the same.

Any ideas anyone?
