New OS for my wife

Trying to help my Wife. She has a 9530 from Verizon running .328 . My questions are 1) What is the last official OS from Verizon, and 2) what is the best OS to run on a 9530? Thanks

The latest OS will be the one posted on Verizons web site for download. And the best way will be the method you are comfortable with. Too many threads to link and too many different opinions.

What is comfortable for me may be cumbersome to to and vice-ce-versa.

I have been using the chineese leak 5.0.0.1041 since about December 2010 and I am happy with it.
