Yeah, what chiles007 said....Fix memory issue EH EH? COME ON....

I have 5.0.0.973

Battery life is amazing
Memory runs out quicky
Scrolling is smooth
Camera works fine
Apps work fairly well
Signal is good

But when that memory runs out, you are ****ed. Maybe this problem can never be sovled by software...

I downloaded this morning. I'm going to think twice about installing it.

This is a official this it will probably have a official blackberry messenger and I don't want that, cause the avatars are little. But maybe I will try it just for the memory leak. I currently have the .1041 with a hybrid.

ETA : Installed !!

First Impression : It's rebooting freaking fast !!!
Memory leak of 5 mb in the past two hours.........ugh.

I would appreciate an update from someone who has installed this OS and used it for a few ours or days....I currently have a 1074 hybrid and i have no real complaints. I don't want to go through the hassle of installing this and it's crap....

Thanks

Chiles

so far over all, I am seeing a little better battery life, I was dying at 2-4PM when charging all night and removing from charger around 7 am, now I am getting to 7-8, also memory appears to somewhat stable, so far I booted today 6 am, and have only lost 3mb at 1pm, and the bedside mode problem of 1041 is gone, and volume seems to ok for me anyways. Video camera has the info bar at bottom, radio seems good so far...I cant think of anything else that needs to be said...just ask I check in every so often...

Smile So far working for me...

I've been running 866 (wipe/shrunk) for about a week now and have decided to keep it because of stability, battery life and no memory leaks and smooth scrolling... so far. I am running 24 apps (no game apps) and reboot around 21MB (however, phone is set for auto reboot overnight). Not bad for a 2+ year old phone. Tried 1041 and phone was running hot and battery life was short- like under 2 hours. 973 required reboots every couple of hours because of memory leaks. Went back to the stable 419 for a while. Must say happy to have found 866 as that AND my Playbook will hold me over for the home stretch... next two months or so until the new BB's arrive on VZW. C'mon RIM!

Ok I'm a newbie at this I admit it.
Questions:
Will it work on Verizon? Any other pitfalls?

I've had no real problems with my Storm since I got it (12/08) and I dont want to screw up what is a good phone.

oh and os is .328

If your software is good then there is really no need to update. Yes it works for all carriers including Verizon. But I had very bad experience with this update. The best is .419 by far !!

Yes, this will work on a VZW Storm, download the OS and install using the instructions in my signature. But you may want to grab SaskTel's 5.0.0.419, sounds like it's the better choice.

Verizon's 328 is complete garbage; it was rushed out to give Storm owners an update to coincide with Storm2's release.

Followed all the steps, still got .328

Guess I'll just give up, and hope for Monaco someday....

Saw the upgrade notice on my storm when I was setting it up to do a device switch to my new Torch. Oh well. Will still install to test it out anyway.
