I been trying to get this but i can't seem to understand. I have .191 already on my pc. I downloaded the .230. How do i put them together in order for this to work. It keeps telling me it's not compatible with my device. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you follow the steps listed in the link below the download link? If you have .191 fully installed on your computer, just run the .230 installer and when it finishes make SURE to delete the vendor.xml file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. Remove rim internal tools from the control panel if you havent already, restart your computer and try to install. If you still have problems let me know.

DTM? Not understanding what that is, lol. But you will see the vendor.xml in the folder path I told you above. Just press delete on that.
To remove rim Internal tools, open your control panel and go to "Add/Remove Programs" if you have XP or "Programs and Features" on Vista. Scroll down till you see blackberry RIM internal apps and select remove. When it finishes removing, you may need to restart your computer.
*if you do not see RIM internal tools or anything very similar it must've been removed before.*
When everything above is done, go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and click on "Loader.exe" while your phone is plugged in and you will see a list of items to be installed, you want the top to say 5.0 core files or such. And by clicking details you will see modules tab on the top. Click that and you want to see the majority of them say .230 at the end. Go ahead and select the other apps you want installed at this time and click next. Hope that clears things up.
In the event your loader.exe will not recognize it, download BBSAK and click on load OS and it worked for me to have 5.0 system software to install. - 09-17-2009, 07:10 PM

Should only have to do it after installing an OS to your pc.

I think maybe consider not just doing the latest OS leaks but ones people actually might use and why....
If anyone is using .154 they are basically clinically insane..so why have it wasting space in the first post?
I suggest the first post should possibly have:
5.0.230- is there anyr eason to go with .191 over this? I guess if you are worried about the installation non .exe aspects. A brief mention of .191 explaining it's mostly the same except for the camera not working.
5.0.140-actually maybe not...why use this unless you hate flickscrolling (or are good with a way more buggy version with the backup enabling fix) , want 5.0, don't like themes, like your camera but can live with out zoom but hate hybrids of any kind to the point you will deal with some stability and media player bugs, and love BBM 5
4.7.167- perfect except themes don't work and memory is not quite as good as .151
.151- pretty darn good, themes work if they are compatible, memory is great...but streaming issue is the main problem and not quite as fast as later builds
.148 - if you want to stay with the latest official (for 9530), everything is compatible...not as fast or as good memory management...many have song muting media player issues and songs not showing up in initial memory card scan but other than that it's stability and compatibility for a little less speed and memory management.
Personally for me I am torn between .167 and 5.0.230 as themes are not really important to me......but I like Pandora, my media player bug free, and the compatibility vs. the nice .230 camera and speed, flick scrolling, prettiness and smoothness.Last edited by blaisedinsd; 09-18-2009 at 01:03 AM.

Sounds like a better idea and I agree with the .154 thing. I think card storm was the only one willing to run it for more than 10 minutes, lol.
I will switch the info around a bit and I did note about the .230 OS and the controversy a bit surrounding it. - 09-18-2009, 10:12 AM

facebook, IM'ing apps work on .151. However slacker and pandora give you a memory error after an hour or two of streaming and you have to do a battery pull to correct. If you want a good OS with all that I'd try .167 but be prepared to give up your themes.
