    Default Help - Updating OS

I've been looking around and can't seem to find what I am looking for on the forums so hopefully someone can help.

My screen went out and I just got my replacement storm... somehow I am missing the App Loader application on my device.

I have been unable to update the OS which is killing me running on .75

I go threw all the steps... but when it comes time to plug in my phone to update... nothing happens.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything... and I feel like the source of my problems is the default App Loader, but I could be wrong. That's the only thing different.

So how do I get that back on my device?

Are you trying to use DM to do your OS update? If so, I suggest not to and go straight from your cpu to your device.

DL the OS you want...save and install to your CPU (if using a leaked OS from a different carrier delete the vendor file) then double click the apploader exe. file and off you go.

What he said but expressed a little differnetly:

After downloading the new os to your computer and installing it on your computer go to:

Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/AppLoader and then delete the Vendor file (found near the bottom of the list of files). Then double click the Loader.exe file

Thanks so much... I knew I was forgetting one small detail and that was the vendor file.

Glad it worked for you. Also, always remember to do a backup of your data and third party apps before making changes.
