Default Got 9530 replaced, DM prompted me to install 5.0.0.509??

Phone was running an OLD os (like in the 4.x series) and when I went to transfer my old Storms info, it prompted me to upgrade. I thought .328 was the last official release?? Installed and it is running fine, I was just curious.

That is the release number, not the OS number commonly referenced here. From what I can determine 328 had a release of 508, so you are either using 328 or someting close to it.

Unless they changed where the OS # is located, this one is clearly 509 (platform 4.2.0.179). I have loaded multiple leaks/hybrids, and they have always shown the OS in the same place.

Screenshot? I can't find that OS anywhere.

edit: 5.0.0.509 is available for 8520, 8900 and 9000, but I don't see a 9530 version.

Trying to get screenshot, but captureit doesn't work for me. Gives me white screen only. The DM says it is App. Version 5.0.0.497, but on the phone it says app ver. 5.0.0.509. Weird

Platform 179 is for the 419 OS which should be rel 674. It almost sounds like a Hybrid of some kind.

Kinda weird if it's a hybrid. Like I said, Desktop Manager prompted me, then downloaded and installed it on my phone. Still confused how this could happen.

Change your permissions in captureit to "allow" and you won't get the white screen. And to answer your earlier question, 328 was the last official OS Verizon released for 9530.

Hmm, interesting. I checked VZW downloads and don't see 5.0.0.509, 328 is what pops up.

Exactly why I started the thread. I was like WTF?? I downloaded and installed the 6.x DM and that is what prompted me if that makes any difference.

look on your computer and see if you have any OS's installed. I suspect thatDM installed an OS that was already on your computer and it looks like a hybrid.

Wow, if I made that rookie mistake, I will ban myself from the board, haha. I will check when I get home, but I bet you are exactly right unfortunately.
