Default Giving up on fixing video camera low record volume

Well, I have posted in some other threads about this problem. Some others have had the same problem, which started with the 5.0.0.328 OS. After, trying all the other leaks and hybrids, and now today trying the new .797 leak with no fix for the the recording volume, I went all the way back to OS 4.7.0.148 and installed it. I just wanted to confirm that I wasn't imagining that the record volume level was working correctly with this last official OS in the 4.7 series. I confirmed that my Storm does have a good record volume with this old OS, so, I am assuming my phone itself is okay. With any 5.0.0.328 OS or later, any video that is recorded with the camera is barely audible with my ear next to the speaker.

Can any of the phone wizards, like Lyricidal take whatever works in the 4.7.0.148 OS and put it in one of the newer 5.0 OS's?

Guess I will have to wait until December to get rid of my contract with Verizon and the Storm 1

I noticed it too the other day. On my Storm it only does it on the high quality video settings. On the "mms" settings it doesn't occur..

I even plugged in my headset and used the mic as a mic for the videos.. In my headset it plays good but when I used the phones speakers it was again very low..

If this is true, then the issue is with playback and not the recording portion of the problem.

@civic

Why do you think this only occurs in the higher resolution settings? In mms video settings it works fine.

At the suggestion of another poster, I tried the MMS setting with the video camera. The volume was louder after recording, but the picture size is reduced and for some reason it would not record very long about 27 seconds. It would display a box saying no space left to record video.

I haven't tried listening to a video I have recorded with the ear phones yet. Will have to try.

Maybe it is because the earphone is in your ear? I can hear the video if I put the speaker right on my ear, with the volume turned up to loudest setting. It just is not very loud, and cannot be heard with the phone at arms length.

Yes changing to MMS settings does change the resolution to a smaller one..

And with the headphones.. I made a recording of me pouring beer into a glass.. With the phones speaker I couldn't hear a thing.. With the headphones I can hear it perfectly .. I can actually hear the beer fall into the glass..

Not that it helps you any, but I had the same problem on my 9530 starting (I believe) with the .328 OS. The sad part is that the Storm2's also have low recording volume, so whatever file(s) control that must be shared by the S1 and S2 OS's.

Just to point out.. The mms settings are meant for sending videos through mms.. Therefore the resolution and recording time are limited.

I'm gonna upload a few videos to my pc and see if its just the phones speaker that causes the low volume..

I just tried to do this after reading your post. The video still doesn't have normal volume. Turned up my PC speakers, but could barely hear the video. Thanks for the idea though.
