    Default De-Brand?

I bought a 9530 secondhand. It was originally on Verizone network and is unlocked. I am on vodacom South Africa network.

I can make/recieve calls and sms's but can't use any other bb services or applications.

The bb services are activated on my sim.

Do any of you know how to get the bb services to work on the fone without me having to pay international rates?

I called vodacom and they do not want to help. After some googling it seems I need the vodacom vendor file or something.

Please any help or advise would be appreciated.

They need to ask VZW for the MEID of the phone.

Each bb is locked to a network and cannot use data without the initial carriers permission.

I don't think this is correct. The device is unlocked so no need to call Verizon. The OP needs a SIM and then needs to get service books. It's a pain in the ***, but it should work.
