Company Phone (Storm) I need Help with the Keyboard

Help,
I can not stand how the keyboard works on this thing. How can I turn off the suggested words? I'm trying to type something and it's trying to guess what I'm typing and it's not even close. Is there a way to turn this off?

Assuming you're on a 5.0 OS, hold the phone in landscape, go to options, click "Language and Text Input", and change "Word Completion" to "Auto Correction".
Works much better

Also again assuming you are using OS 5.0, I would recommend using a the full keyboard versus the SureType (two letters per key). I have bigger hands but I still manage to type much faster than people who use the SureType setup. If you wish to go to that it is under Options > Screen/Keyboard.

Also, if you are just getting used to your phone, give it a bit of time. It is frustrating at first, but when you get it down this thing is a champ. To help with typing errors, I changed my touchscreen settings as well (this is all under Options > Screen/Keyboard). Set:
Tap Interval to 500
Hover Period to 1000
Swipe Sensivitiy to at least 4
