can I install 419/451 over .328

I am running vzw 328 on my 9530.
can I install the 419/451 over it or do I have to update to 419 first.
**first leaked install** go easy on me.
also.. i posted this question in the "how to" section but it looks like its slow moving over there.

I have downloaded the "95x0-451Hybrid.exe"
how do I install this on my pc... if by just dbl clicking the file where does it go and how do I get DM to find it.

Uninstall .328 from add/remove programs. Then install .419 and install .451 on top of it. .451 does not work with the .328 platform (.sfi file in the CDMA folder). It only works with the .419 and up platform. When you're done and you run loader.exe, your about screen should say v5.0.0.451 (Platform 4.2.0.179) if everything went well. Good luck!

You can install it over 328. I suggest first installing 419 on your computer and then double clicking the hypred exe and following the instructions. It will update the 419 on your computer and then give you the option to shrink it if you want.

I also suggest the following be done before installing to your phone:

1. uninstall any other OS from your computer using Control Panel/Add remove programs

2. Backup your data and third party apps

3. be sure the vendor file is removed from Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/AppLoader

4. Installusing Loader.exe found in the same folder as the vendor file.

5. Be sure that DM is closed before using the Loader.exe

I dont see .328 in the add/remove programs on my pc.
I used the blackberry desktop manager to install .328.
this is my first attempt at installing anything other than official updates.... so I need all the newbie help I can get... sorry

by running the new exe file this installs it on my pc.. right? where is it putting it?

Thanks for the link CB, I have read a few of the guides. my last couple of questions a from following some of them. like I said before this is my first install this way and there are a few things that I cant find... I ran the exe file and dont see that it installed on my pc. if I used DM to install .328 wouldnt it show up under add/remove... well it dont.

If you installed .328 using the Desktop Manager and without downloading the .exe, it won't show in Add/Remove programs as Desktop Manager just downloaded the files that were needed directly from the internet.

So, don't worry about it. Just install .419 on your computer and then follow the instruction guides.
