Camera distortion, no solution?

My storm 9530 has been great for roughly one year. Now the camera seems to be having problems. The best way I can describe this is distortion/static. Similar to like snow on a tv, but with different colors. I have brought it to the people at several verizon outlets and they have no idea what to do, and just try to sell me a new phone.
I attached a sample of when I just took a picture. The distortion doesnt immediately, but is inevitable every time I need to take a picture, or video. Please, any advice would be appreciated.

Wow, no one knows? Got some views, but I guess everyone is as stumped as Verizon and I.

My wife had the same problem. I wiped and did a reinstall of the os and it went away. I think it has something to do with the programming maybe degrading. I'm not sure but it did fix her problem. I know it was the os only because she does not run any apps. Not even the core apps. I have removed everything possible from her phone. She doesn't even use the internet. I hope this helps.
