Default Browser always deleted after updating OS

My browser somehow gets deleted every time I update my OS. Sometimes it comes back with a battery pull and sometimes I have to do the whole install again. It has done it once again I cannot seem to get it back. Any suggestions??

The browser is service book related (i.e. RIM provisioning). It comes and goes with them. It's as normal as the sun rising.

You have to put your hand on your forehead and look towards the western skies. Then while you're doing this, have a friend resend your godamn service books.

Service books have never fixed my browser. It's always registering that fixes the browser for me. I'm pretty sure that service books don't touch the browser because it is looking for you to have the internet service on the accout before it appears. Hence, registering the device on the network does it.

Options. Advanced Options. Host Routing Tables. Menu Button, Register now.

Guess what? Registering the HRT is "Resending Service Books". Sending BIS service books sends your email ones, registering HRT sends the other ones (browser, BBMaps, carrier pushed installers, etc.)

Guess in my naivete I find maself thinking registration should be automatically accomplished by the update. And if there is a winning argument against that, there should be a 3rd party app that takes care of little steps like that.

It is done by the device when you power up the radio back on it. Here's the steps to take. Turn off radio prior to OS install. Do a normal upgrade via DM (instead of a wipe per some writeups on this site). Once the OS update is complete and the data/3rd party programs have been restored/reinstalled to the handset and the wizard is done, unplug from PC and turn the radio on. WAIT FOR 60 SECONDS WHILE YOU SEE DATA ARROWS FLOW BACK AND FORTH WHILE UNDER 1XEV. All your stuff will be pushed back down.

You can always just wait for me for the browser to just come back on to your storm, you know. Might take longer then usual but hey it will come back.

Wait? Wtf. how lazy are some of you people? It's literally a 5 second clicking of 3 options......Jesus, spoonfed anyone? I can understand why the technologically impaired buy smartphones......what I can't understand is why they refuse to learn anything about their phone but still try and upgrade the OS.

Well I guess my OCD is less acute than yours if you've literally timed the three clicks.

And now I need not get too upset if I never manage to beat your best time since apparently these clicks are redundant anyway -- thanks Civic and torque.
