Question best Os?

Okay so I'm looking for the best Os to use on my phone. I'm limited to very few apps I can run and talking about 4 apps in total I can have on my phone and that's with bbm taken off. right now I'm using OS v5.0.0328:

I've had quite a few OSs on my Storm and i think v5.0.0.1041 is the best thus far....i haven't found any real problems with it as yet and i've had it for months now....

Personally I do see much change past 5.0.0.419. I've tried them all and I'm currently running 1041. They are all good from 419 on.

If you are only able to run 4 apps you have a bigger issue going on. Regardless, you should look into wiping the phone completely and starting over regardless of which OS you decide to use. (and shrink the OS too)

By the way, I am running official .328 and I have 20 or so apps and boot at 30mb.....

I dont know where the other OS's are as I dont use them, but you can find them if you search. Same with the wiping process. There are different ways. Use DM to back up all your data first. I use BBSAK to wipe the phone and I use shrink-a-os to shrink and load the OS. If you do a search you will find all that. If not post back here and I will find it for you.

Shrink-A-OS will allow you to remove un-needed files such as help files, extra languages. removing these extra files will give you more App memory to use for apps.

You are using a storm right?? (says Curve in your ID) Anyway - if you have never installed a leak before, why dont you try to wipe and reinstall the official .328 (with the shrink) and see if that does not solve your problems.....Leaks can be tricky if you havent ever done it before I think....but then again I dont use them.

Go to BBtweaks.com, read all about upgrading an OS (current OS: 9530 Hybrid v1041.3.0) I've been running hybrids on my Storm1 for 2 years without issues. My phone runs as well as most (I say that loosely) current OS's. Read, read, read and you'll begin to see common ways all of us have leaned out our OS and the useless applications. The Storm may not be everyones cup of tea, but with intelligent tweaking can be a reliable mobile phone and pim.

I still use the offical .328 (shrunk) for one main reason that is the multi-touch text input which is not present on the later versions.

If you know what each of the files are, you can remove them without Shrink-a-OS, but it is probably a little more risky, as you REALLY need to be SURE that you know what each individual file is...

I'm still rocking 4.7.0.148!!!

But... don't think I'm gonna upgrade my NE2 cuz the new VZW data plans are ripoffs!!!! So I think I'm gonna install a new OS, and pare down my apps to only what I actually use. Hopefully I'll have to do less battery pulls... I'm at about once a day currently... sometimes more!

Anyone try lyricidal's 1049 v2 hybrid? 95x0 - .1049 Hybrid v2 - Downloads - BBH-Plus Forums
