hey andy

quick question for you.
step 3 you say

"3. On your PC go to:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\ (the latest version on your PC) i.e. 9530-v4.7.0.113_P4.0.0.144, if "

I get to research in motion. but then do not see shared / loader files.
I do have hidden folders / files visible.
have you heard of these folders missing or in a different area?

thanks.

Hi niki--blue,

I'm not Andy but here's my 2 cents which ust might be helpful.

When Andy says to go to c:\...(the latest version on your PC) he is assuming that you had previously install some firmware update through DM on your PC. If you did then you should have this shared/Loader_Files folder available. If you don't you can first download .113 and install it on your PC and then follow up Andy's instructions from that point.

Other thing to check is whether you're actually looking into c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion and *not* in c:\Program Files\Research In Motion (notice: "Common Files" missing)

Hope this helps.

in my loader file folder it shows .103 and .114 so I pasted .122 into the .114 folder but when I run the app loader it only recognizes .75 and .65. Anyone have any idea how to get this to work?

Smile .122 after install

So, I downloaded it. I was previously using .86. It runs pretty good, the only thing I strongly dislike is when you close a screen that had the keyboard open, it closes in 2 sections. I find that very annoying. Other than that, it seems to run smoothly.

you will need to unzip the file...after that copy and paste the cdma file and java files seperatly and yes to all. You might as well download the v3.5 because its way better then the .122 and it will be much more stable.

I am 2 computers and 20 hours into trying to get this install to work since a college told me how awesome it is. I am one of the few who do not have OS options when I'm using device manager. I just hope using the loader.exe will work. I really want this storm to be excellent!

I'm running on XP 64-bit. I do not have folder structure described in this thread. I have C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion, but there is is no Loader Files folder. The only folder that matches is the Java folder Loader Cache in Application Data. Any other XP64 users having issues as well?

Tried overwriting the Java folder in Application Data and my BB will not update. I only have the option to downgrade to .65. When I choose .75, nothing happens. I just get told that there are no updates. Gonna try in my office tomorrow. I run 32-bit XP there. Will keep you posted.
