After roughly 20 hours with the official 5.0...
Well I've noticed several changes, the VAST majority of which improve the device immensely.
First I'll begin with the good but since I'm on my now coveted storm I can't remember how to do blue or red...
after 20 hrs and no battery pulls, I've obviously lost memory but the device is still snappy as it was after my final restart.
took a picture of my cat and in the time it took for the picture to take on 4.7 I was able to open the camera, snap the picture and saved it....much less time for my kitty to move and ruin the picture!
At first when I kept seeing double letters I figured "ah man, they looked over this bug!" then I realized not only was it not a bug, but it was one of my favorite improvements over 4.7. The cause of the double letters is when you click a second letter with the screen already depressed, it now registers as a key stroke! So when I was pressing it again it was assuming I knew the letter I wanted was there and adding another. This makes it possible to type faster than I ever imagined possible on the first generation storm.
Obvious improvements are the Animations and things that I'm sure everyone, like me is in love with and the ability to access the clock and network from the top Bar is a huge plus. Also of course, threaded SMS and flick scrolling.
Since I had to redownload bbm I got a Chance to test the email contact backup I sent when I was running bbm 5.0 on os 4.7. I sent the request for my contacts and with a quick checklist, bbm restored all my contacts and settings, score!
I have also noticed when making a custom profile you can now set what the device does in/out of the holster for each separate profile where with 4.7 this was impossible.
The ability to create folders for your home screen is back and boy did I miss that!
Copying certain portions of text is greatly improved with the new look they gave the boxes.
Also the auto text correction for the full qwerty keyboard is a welcome change.
Now I believe that's everything besides the blatantly obvious I've noticed. So for the 1 or 2 negatives...
I can not seem to find a separate icon for my BB email account. So far I've had to let the messages folder show emails and do it that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated in this aspect.
And the only other bad thing is that I'm not even sure I want to use my upgrade on the storm 2 :P I hope everyone is enjoying this as much as I am! Cheers!

if you're coming from 4.7 you will not regret it at all!

Make sure you double check any folders you might have created (make sure that "show all" is checked off in the bb menu just in case it hid somehow).
If that doesn't work, check the settings in your "e-mail settings" for anything that might be stopping it from being shown.
But I'm pretty sure your problem is probably a hidden icon, at least that's what mine was with my G-mail icon."Ride the storm."

Even on 323 the Picture app is 100x better now. displaying the thumbnails is fast and moving to next pic is very smooth but still have problems with the accelerometer. it doesnt want to switch modes no matter how i rotate it or abuse it.
