Default 9500 users when will we get another update???

Well the title pretty much says it all, just wondering when we 9500 users will be getting an official 5.0 release or at least another leak? I really love my storm but the little bugs on the the current release are getting to me so, anybody out there who has a more updated leak please make it come to light...

I must confess with the release of official 5 for 9530 that we would get something also, I seem to remember 216 was leaked just about they same time as 230.

I have been checking here everyday in hope!

I feel we are one more os away from a good device, all I need is for the select thingie to stop appearing randomly when I'm typing and I'll be happy (at least until I can upgrade to a Nokia!).

Default more than a month without new beta leak

I like a lot .216 beside all actual issues, a miss some applications as meterberry but it seams that battery life is longer than one in 4.7 and I love flickscrolling and cant imagine a storm without it again.
Cant wait any more and I need a leak

in installed the last "leaked" update for 9500 (5.....216) but my phone would reboot after about 2 minutes of starting up. Anybody know how to solve this issue?

Get rid of all the 3rd party junk, make sure it's completely clean install and you'll be fine

While I found 5.0.0.216 to be very responsive, finding my phone with a black screen and unable to bring it back to life without battery pulls all the time very quickly wore me down, and I was quickly back using 4.7.0.181.

Feel exactly the same as you.

To be honest, I feel utterly let down by Vodafone and RIM. The Storm1 has been an utter joke from start to finish, and the same can be said for the OS. The bugs we find cropping up release after release make me wonder what sort of testing they even bother to do. After this contract is up, I'm not convinced I'd ever get another BlackBerry if only for fear of having to go through more hassle with yet bug riddled OS releases.

No-one should have to buy a phone, then wait around 12 months for some half decent operating system to get released. Even then, I'm not convinced it will sort out issues I personally experience, ie: battery life + calls. I only use three third party apps to boot: Google Maps, UberTwitter, QuickPull. And none of those run constantly in the background.

Had a few issues with .216 ( locked and reset the phone once when using the camera, white bars needing a screen rotation to remove them, bad radio reception, black screen after coming out of holster).

Am now on a Hybrid (24hrs) and seeing how it goes (still got the white bars).

Shame about Meterberry not working and the Berryweather icon not updating.

Also would like the option to turn off the threaded SMS.

Apart from that, it works well, battery seems about the same (2 days from a charge).

Will stick with it until an official 5.0 is released tho. (unless I still have issues with the reception, then it's back to 4).

I run os 5.0.0.230 on my 9500 and runs ok, but like many a step up to .238 would be most welcome.

Can you get a hybrid with .230 and .238 combination until we get a leaked .238 or an offical release?

Many thanks for the forum BTW.

The reason why we dont get any releases is the because nobody (Carriers) actually cares, easily the post moves to second page and is forgotten.........nobody here cares for the 9500 users......and we so much so in minority that a hybrid is enough to satisfy us............and our brothers 9530 get all the leaks and official releases ........

S1 is not a priority for Vodafone now: Storm 2 and iPhone = new contracts and revenues. We don't as we were suckered in and are stuck with our contract tie-ins. Some will even be getting close to the point now where they can upgrade their phone, so there's probably an expectation that they will switch to Storm 2s. An update will come…eventually. Just don't expect them to be putting a rush on it!
