The good:
Gained 2MB on app memory.
Slightly faster start up (placebo??)
The bad:
Totally messed up my BB Groups (can't even restore via email) silly me for depending too much on the remote restore option.
The ugly:

Camera works very well and very quick. Better than it has ever worked. Also the 2x zoom is 2x and not 1.4x.
No black line when scrolling SMSs.
3G reception seems much improved. In the past only occassionally did I have 3G. Now it is solid with good signal strength.
Preview of pictures is instant. VERY much faster than .425 or any other OS.
Memory is rock solid.
Best OS so far.

Data no longer randomly stops for up to a minute like my 425 did (could have been my install, only happened with 3G, not GPRS)
Black lines in sms gone with bubbles view
Rapid picture gallery!
Memory no better, but no worse either!
No longer brings up the menu (next unopened item) when entering an sms conversation
I've not seen it hiding the keyboard in browser yet, however it seemed quite intermittent on 425
GPS works everytime, not only once after a battery pull!
Scrolling in contacts still occasionally goes mental!
Color banding is shocking! (check out the featured item logos on appworld, suppose thats how they got the speed on the gallery!)
So no major problems so far, fixed a few niggles and most importantly doesnt seem to have brought any new bugs!

So 9530 users can just replace the .419 java folder with this and it will run? I'm running ooakdpc's .419 / .436 hybrid but if all I gotta do to test drive this is swap java folders I think I'll try it.

For me it - fixed the speed dial glitch (now it works even with full keyboard in portrait). Keyboard while browsing issue is fixed as well. Memory is stable and rock solid so far, and gained 2Mb of app memory upon reboot.
It did not fix the lines thru SMS while SMS is set to bubbles. SMS still needs to be set to stripes.
So far I'm very happy with using the 451 JAVA (for 9500) on my 9530
If anyone has any other 419 glitches they want checked out, let me know, and I'll see if 451 JAVA corrected them.Last edited by buckifvr; 01-20-2010 at 11:20 AM.

Works like a dream so far. Also better battery life so far. NO glitches at all. Seems they tightened all the nuts and bolts so everything runs sweet. Gained 5.5MB also.
Love it!...

I am running the 451 Java with 419 and so far it kinda sucks. It did fix the speed dial issue (which is great) but its leaking for me and the battery is draining like crazy. Plus, I had about 5 random reboots today. I will give it a couple more days to see if it settles in but I think I am headed back to 419.
I know every Storm is different (which is weird to me) but I have always had good luck and not had a lot of the problems that others had when leaks came out. I guess my luck is running out.OS: OOAKDPC 419/484 Hybrid
