I wonder how hard it would be for RIM to incorporate an option into the os, letting you choose tap or press. This would satisfy those few who just can't make their peace with pressing down on a screen. I think this would be especially handy on the dial screen too.

I have been using this keyboard as my default keyboard and it is by far my favorite layout.. In both the ABC screen and the .!? symbols screen I think you have the most keys available to you at one time.

I'm determined to like this new keyboard. But the keys are really small. And I keep hitting the backspace when I want to hit the l key.

It's about OPTIONS, my friends, and letting people choose the one they want :-)

I agree that the new keyboard is worthless without popup letter notifications.
Apple can't have a patent on that too!!

When I type in landscape I find lifting my thumbs all the way off the keys gives me the best results. I don't know if I can train my brain to do it one way for landscape and another way for portrait. I like having all these choices. I would really like to see a larger backspace key in the qwerty portrait, if possible.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | What makes you think this is the final version? Remember this is the first beta to have this feature.
I'll also point out that it may not have it for the same reason as they took out the transitioning effect and the "follow my finger" effect in the icons in earlier builds. It improves OS speed and responsiveness. We will have to wait and see what happens in the the next official OS.
