You will need to find OS 5 for your 9500. I believe Verizon's Storm is the 9530 so it won't work on your Storm.
Take a look in the OS subsection here to find the version you need, and download links, and step-by-step instructions on how to do it.RED Torch Virgin Mobile, Storm (LyrHybrid.669v2) Rogers, unlocked HTC Desire, Macbook 10.6.5, Hackintosh desktop 10.5.6, JailBroken 16GB iPodTouch 1G, 16GB iPod Nano 4G , 8GB Jailbroken/unlocked iPhone 3G, Palm TX...... gadget queen! - 02-02-2010, 06:59 AM #3
U could try the 5.0 release from A1 (Autrian Provider). I am hesitating because I wont get support for my BES.

yeah you can i got mine form blackberryos.com and it works fine on my vodafone uk storm (unlocked) just make sure you delete the vendor file and do a backup first and ull be all good. Whenever i install an os it always hangs on the device start up part so i just disconnect it do a battery pull and then restore ur phone again and voila

Wormage: you need to find a release for the 9500, the VZW storm is a 9530, the radio file is different. the A1 release will work on your phone. Just be sure to grab a 9500 5.0 release not a 9530 release.
Wherever you go, there you are.

I do not recommend this. It "hangs" on bootup after an OS install because it is installing and configuring components. It is very normal for the reboot after an install to take upwards of 20-30 minutes, and I recommend letting it go.
Granted, it may work just fine if you don't, but you don't want to end up with a bricked device, so would advise just letting it do it's thing. - 02-02-2010, 10:33 AM #7
