5.0.0.685 for 9530 -- Who wants to be first?
ohad_129 at bbhybrids.net points us to a Chinese release of 9530hwEastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel1156_PL4.2.0.312_A5.0.0 .685.zip.exe for the Storm 9530.
The download page is in Chinese. Click here for the Google translation.
It appears that you have to register for the site in order to download.
I'm not sure what the "zip.exe" means. Does this extract to a Zip file? Is this a legitimate leak?
In any event, who wants to be the first to give this a try? Be sure you post your findings and a more user-friendly download link here!
Have fun.

UPDATE: I was able to download the file without registering at this link. The download speed is at dial-up pace, however (< 20 KB/sec), so you'll need to be very, very patient. YMMV though.Last edited by ubersurfer; 06-27-2010 at 07:53 AM.

I read chinese. I know how to download this stuff and I got it today. But it doesn't work on my storm2. it's a pity.
You guys may also get it from u.115.com/file/f7fa769eb5#
No need registration, ignoring ads..just click any of the three image/text buttons above the countdown of time remaining. It will direct you to one of the actual download address. try another one if one doesn't work.
Anyone knows how to make this handwriting stuff working on storm2?Last edited by Gale Fae; 06-27-2010 at 09:17 AM.

I'm still trying to get the download and I will have a look at the files and see if its possible - sadly it may be something contained in part in the radio/platform file which is device specific, but hopefully it is something only in the Java and we can transfer it over

I have installed the download and it looks like it is a Java thing - I am working on it as we speak for 9500 and 9550/9520 - we will see how it goes
Ive just noticed now that the radio/platform(.sfi) file is bigger than the previous ones by a few MBs so I'm not sure if this will work out right
:edit:
It looks like if you find an OS that is EastAsia or AllLang the radio file is bigger in it and it should work with this (I THINK)
example: .741 for 9520 (NODRM) from M1 is EastAsia and has a bigger radio fileLast edited by lyricidal; 06-27-2010 at 10:30 AM.

I've now ATTEMPTED to collect all the files for Chine handwritten feature
For those looking for the Chinese handwritten input for there 95x0 device:
Video of this feature: Watch Here
Handwritten Chinese Patch (Storm 1) - Downloads - BBHybrids Forums
Handwritten Chinese Patch (Storm 2) - Downloads - BBHybrids Forums
"This is from the .685 leak - I have collected all the files required and the CJK.alx
It allows you to write Chinese by "drawing" on the screen
To install:
Copy the CJK.alx and Java folder to your install folder, when asked, Overwrite everything.
Run Loader.exe and install the language you require
Phone should reboot and new you should now have the new feature.
Note: It is recommended to use an OS that is EastAsia or AllLang as the radio file is bigger and (I think) plays a part in the feature (not confirmed) "Last edited by lyricidal; 06-27-2010 at 11:59 AM.

Unfortunately, neither does 9500 nor 9520 work at this point, failed the package in different ways.
On my 9520, I tried .669 and .741, but both of them gave up on this issue. It says something is unusable.

Try highlighting all of the CJK items - also make sure you do not shrink anything else
I will have another look this evening
Im also re-uploading a fix to the CJK.alx for the 9550/9520 - going up now
redownload at the same link if you would like to try it again - I missed some references to the Storm1 that needed to be changed to Storm2
Correct so far lolBBHTool Creator/Developer

This time made progress. It's been all loaded in my storm2. The symptom described on storm1 looks like this on storm2. It seems to me that they have the same no other input method options problem except for English.

I have one more suggestion to try if you want:
Install the .741 onto computer, copy over the patch.rar from the post before, but if it asks to overwrite only do the CJK.alx and do not overwrite the rest, just click "skip" it may need the newer files for the options screen
Another thing could be that it needs the .685 net_rim_bb_virtual_keyboard.cod ( the keyboard file)
Other than that I'm out of ideas lol

I got this finally as I copied .685 cods over .741 java folder.
bbs.maxpda.com/attachments/month_1006/20100629_fb482aaa9fd8ba111077NI9ncQsJaWYX.jpg
Everything seems to work fine except for chinese im. There may be a proprietary cod for .685, net_rim_platform_contenthandler_ui.cod as I compare those two platform.alx, which is not seem anywhere else. - 06-28-2010, 10:22 PM #22
My Blackberry is Strom2(9550) with OS 5.0.0.747. The CJK.alx in this OS had handwritten input method options. So I did not copy and overwrite the CJK.alx. I only copy the java file. I have install successfully but cannot see any new feature in OS.
By the way , on right-bottom conner of virtual keyboard is a button named "模式"(In English it means mode), which I think it was a button swith to handwritten mode. But it does not work! - 06-28-2010, 11:36 PM #23
see http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/mi...riting-489678/
There's some cods missing.
