When you do an OTA upgrade, will your contacts, settings, apps, etc be saved? Or will you have to reinstall using your backup file on DM?

I downloaded and installed the OTA update. Easy process. No glitches, everything works. Glad to have what seems to be a much faster and more stable device.

Thanx...

The first step after downloading the update was to backup everything. The last step was to restore. It all happened automatically and everything I had came back with no issues. I didnt connect to DM at all.

I don't want to seem like a complete a$$ but how do I upgrade through OTA...is that the wireless upgrade through the phone..?

Generally, OTA should not have any issues backing up and restoring your contacts / settings etc.

That does not mean problems won't occur, but its generally pretty smooth

Setup > Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update

yes it is... go to options, advance options, wireless upgrade...last option on the screen

Don 't feel like one...I had exactly the same question...is there a prompt on the device? How DO you upgrade OTA?

From the phone, go to options> advanced options>check upgrade.

I live in NY ota available, hung at 0% then states not enough memory........wtf??? I have lots of memory on this phone.

I thought i read that ota was going to be aviable to people with phone numbers ending in 0 first. Then 1, then 2 and so on and so on. You people that are able to get OTA already, does your number end in 0?

No. My understanding is that the poke would go in that order. If you tried to update before you were poked, the update would still be available.

Oh maybe that is what it was. I was just guessing thats why some are able to get OTA and some are not

I may have misunderstood how it works, but only those on .75 would be able to OTA. You can only upgrade from official releases. .141 was never made official.
