Default 114 Cannot Access Dial Pad on Phone Call?

I have 114 on my Verizon Storm and when I am in a phone call, I hit the button to access the dial pad and either get letters or blank keys. Anyone having the same problem and if so, does anyone know of a fix for this?

It's fun when you are calling a place that requires a dialed in response.

#6 and #7, that isn't how we should speak to or about people looking for some help.

Would it be nice if they knew a solution existed and thus did a search for it? Sure, but often times people find it more productive or hassle free to draw attention to their issues by dedicating a thread to their issues and their issues alone in hopes that someone will be nice enough to provide them a solution.

That is what a forum is for. Often times people go searching for a solution and then what may be a solution for someone else may not exactly help them or provide it in a context that they can understand.

A quick word of warning when doing these kinds of fixes, because it happened to me. Your blackberry messenger. Make sure to open up a text file or something and put down all the BlackBerry Pins of your contacts in BlackBerry Messenger as I lost those while doing these.

    @ Optimus...

even if they didn't know a solution existed, the FIRST thing a user should do is look at the active threads AND/OR search for key terms. The OP opened this thread with the terms "114" and "dial pad". A simple search for these words would have had a bunch of hits. It is general consensus at this time that copying the .109 keyboard files into the .114 directory BEFORE loading it does indeed work. The "trick" is that you have to copy the files before you load the .114 OS.

to address your "word of warning"... if you add the person's name and pin# as a contact, you can save yourself the hassle of having to reprogram them all back in. (For me) it works every time.
    SEARCH~ LEARN IT, USE IT!

This is a *forum*, not a blog. Post questions and answers, not what you're doing right now... that's what Twitter is for.

"User Error: Please Replace User" should be an actual error message.

true. but ... to be blunt ... I'm would never recommend crackutil (even with pictures and a step-by-step) to someone who doesn't even know how to use the search function.

Use the BBcrackman hybrid. It has the fix built in. It also has all the speed and smoothness of the best parts of all the betas to date, with none of the bugs. For me , at least.
    Good luck.

Not to quote your own words against you, but this is your #4 post in crackberry.
Welcome to forum posting. Get used to the same questions being repeated. If you don't want to answer...AGAIN... then dont
Everyone is new to these forums at some point. Ump-teen posts chastising the OP for his mistake is not the answer. Give the OP an answer with some tips on how to find things easier might just get a better outcome.
Note: The OP in the thread I quoted, never posted again.

Agree... From what I've read, this is , by far the most stable OS yet.

if you were referencing me in that remarks, perhaps you should re-read my post count. the last I checked (meaning, just before I posted THIS remark), my count was 215.

edit: scratch that. I get what you were saying. I'm kind of disturbed that you would actually go back and search what I've posted... regardless of that apparent fact, Optimus was kind of chatising others for telling the OP to search. Not to call him out, but it's not like he added anything to the conversation either. Notice I didn't respond to the OP directly? I felt it wasn't necessary to mention - again - searching and/or how to get the info without creating a new thread, so my point to speak was directed at Optimus.

You say that ump-teen posts pointing out the mistake aren't necessary, but how about ump-teen threads about the same thing? Isn't it in the "forum rules and guidelines" sticky about searching first, then posting if you can't find anything?

In regards to the person not posting again- maybe they learned how to search and haven't needed to post anything? There is probably only one person who knows...

I edited my last post. you responded before I submitted.

edit: I'm done with yet another thread that's going to count for nothing at the end of the day.

OP - the answer has been given. do with it what you will. while I'm normally more helpful, I will apologize if you feel shat-upon for asking the same thing as however many others.

I wasn't meaning to sigle you out,(You were the last one to post) but rather to make a point that everyone is new at some point and direction is way better than flames. Sorry if I offended you, as that was not my intentions.

I was starting to gather that. I guess I'm one of the few people who've been around forums long enough to know that you look, then search, then create. If I am guilty of anything, it's expecting that other people should know that as well.

No offense taken, for the most part. It's not like I'm going to get all butthurt just because of it. Tuesday is St Patrick's Day, and while it's mostly known as a drinking holiday despite that it's not... whether you're Irish or not, have one on me.

    Default keypad

I too had the same problem with the keypad after .114 I just went into the options menu screen/keyboard and changed from suretype to full keyboard and it fixed the dial pad for some reason.

That is one of the original fixes that was posted soon after the Leak. But many people want to be able to use suretype so they are looking for a more permanent fix. The Hybreds provide the permanent fix.

I have hybrid too, bit now it seems that when i want to dial extra numbers like extension/menu options it is not showing anywhere. The dial pad do not have like the same one you use to make the phone call intially. i.e no box where you can see the numbers u type.

Anyone one has the same problem.
