Default VZW pushes Social Beat to Storm

An icon for Social Beat popped up in my downloads folder this morning. Anyone know what it is? I'm assuming it was pushed from VZW as I did not download thus app.

It's just a Verizon approved version of SocialScope. It lets you log into all of your social networking accounts from within one single app.

I got it yesterday. Just an icon - the app is not really loaded. I just hid it.

Why don't they try pushing an OS through instead of this crap? Give the people what they want, not what Verizon wants!

It does what it is supposed to do and runs rather smoothly. What more can be said?

yea seems pretty smooth.

but i see it is mostly aimed for your status updates and not the full functionality of the actual site. also it seems to have a slight battery drain.

Seems to run okay, but definitely lacks many options.

Hi does the app push notification or we need to update manually? I like the idea of convergence app as it gets me all updates with least memory footprint.

Its 700+ kb in size.

It has an RSS feature with preloaded feeds. Don't think you have the ability to add new ones.

The Twitter APP is very basic. No way does it compare to UberTwitter or SocialScope. The FaceBook APP might be ok with tabs for Stream / Inbox / Wall.

Has Google Talk and MySpace which I do not use.

I'm only using it for facebook right now but I like it better than RIM's.

It works OK. It can be "minimized" or always on so it's updating, but I wonder about memory loss and battery loss. It's basic but does as advertised (and free).

I still like SocialScope better. While Social Beat allows you to see several different streams (I like how they did the Facebook stream especially), the flick scrolling is glitchy, you can't make a update post to several accounts at once (a la the SocialScope checkboxes), and the overall UI is rather slow for my tastes. If Social Beat updated so that it was faster and allowed for a "Post to All/Selected Networks" option when making status updates, I would consider redownloading again.

Another unsolicited and unwanted pushed app icon that can't be deleted??

I now have 3 rows of these garbage app icons. I don't care that they can be hidden; they still clutter up the phone.

Stop it, VZ.

I like the myspace feature which makes me like it but I kinda don't like the led flashing on random updates
Could be a glitch but it annoys me and might make me delete it (for now)
