Default VCast Song ID not working

Has anyone installed & tried verizon's VCast Song ID. I tried using this the other day but it would just stay on the "Listening" screen. One time I let it go for about 30mins and it was till there...ok maybe it was more like 15mins... but still. Anyone else have better luck with this?

I'm running BBCrackman V7 (.151)

go to options>advanced options>applications>song id (highlight it, dont click)>bb button>edit permissions> set all to "allow" that should fix it

you need to ALLOW all your permissions, works great for me,

btw, has anyone had an issues in terms of being charged for using VCAST song ID and not being a VCAST plan?

Is this free? I just noticed the icons on my main screen. I hid them, since it won't let me delete them. I guess this is in place of using shazaam.

edit: it's free but there are charges for other things:

Tools & Applications: V CAST Song ID

If you want to delete them you can. They were pushed using service books. Go into your settings, go to service books they should be the top two on the list high light each one and delete and then the launchers should be gone. Though this may be only temporary until Verizon pushes service books (or you need to push them) then they will show back up.

I have read the posts, did the Options thing.....and still this song id sucks. It didn't recognize ANY songs I have tried..old or new. I put the phone right up to the speaker and it still didn't recognize anything. It says it is "anaylizing the music data and then No Match" My question is does it have to be a vcast song or should it recognize all popular songs, AND do you have to have vcast on your Storm for it to work.

Any suggestions. Anyone know when Shazam will be ready for the Storm????? <sigh>

My first guess, since it's related to VCast, is it probably will only ID songs available from VCast. But another thought is you might actually be getting too close to the speaker, and the recording is getting distorted.

I had the same problem (hence my search for this thread topic) of the piece of crap stuck on "Listening"
nice Verizon pushing out another pile with no error handling
how about a message "I dont have the necessary permissions to function"
So I just gave it rights to the recorder and to the internet
That got me to the next step of Analyzing Music DNA, but it gave the same error as the poster above "No Matches Found" for common music like Bangles Eternal Flame (had to find something easy I know it could find). That failed so I did the WTF method and gave it full permissions to everything
Since then it has ID'd Bangles Eternal Flame correctly, and even went as far as IDing Pantera - Primal Concrete Sledge, and Sepultura - Nomad correctly.

It did not however find a match for some native american music I tried.. I guess I can let that one slide
