Default Ultimate Lock vs Storm Slider

I've been using the Storm Slider for quite some time now and just recently switched to Ultimate Lock. I have always thought the SS was a great app with great support. Upon switching to Ultimate Lock I have noticed two key things that won't make me want to switch back: Battery drain and memory leak. Now I know this experience won't effect every Storm user in the same way but my battery lasts much, much longer and my memory is stable. Anyone else notice a difference?

As far as I'm aware, StormSlider had many upgrades of late and the last one was bad which halved my battery life and had a massive memory leak. I even asked Mobihand for a refund.
Is Ultimate Lock all good? What is the impact on battery life and memory?

SS gets updated so often, no point to switch. The creator is a genius and always trying to make it better.

I am using PatternLock right now. I have bought both SS an UL, and got huge leaks on both. UL is supposed to be coming out with upgrade, so waiting on that to try it again.

one looks like the iphone and one looks like the droid. ultimate lock has a couple more feature then slider but the dev is looking into adding some of the same features. it all depends on which one you like better. there both good apps

It would be nice if these locking applications were a little more BlackBerry-like in design rather than knocking-off other phone themes. I have my BB for reason and that's because I like it - would really like to see a BB-like design for these apps.

There are just so many ways you can create a locking app. I wouldn't really call them a complete knock off. Just sliders are more convenient for touch screens. It's not just smart phones that use them.

They're are quite a few alternatives.. these are just the most popular for it's features.
check out office hotshot, it's visual stunning and might fit your taste.

Sorry but that in no way makes an app better. I had SS and got fed up dealing with the crazy battery drain and the memory loss. DMG has some good apps but he has been swinging and missing with SS way to much. It get's updated a lot because it is always broke in my opinion.

Or could it be because he's one of the few developers that has decided to try to implement everything that his customers ask? If you noticed there were no issues with SS until he started trying to please some of the same hateful folks that run around the forums bashing his apps.
