There was some talk when mobishark came out that it is illegal and you could get your contract terminated for violating terms and conditions. Is it the same argument for this app. http://forums.crackberry.com/f86/abusing-storm-94384/

This app is awesome.
Might just cancel my home cable service.
I've loaded high graphic sites like CB, myspace and
You tube. Loading was impressively quick
And streaming video was better then my comcast

Ps. I hate comcast.

This program is designed to work with the RIM device and the data plan we pay for through our carrier.
That would imply that VZW disabled a feature on their BB.

They didn't. Instead, they disabled it on their network unless you subscribe to their BroadBand Access Plan.

Post #36 of that thread does a good job giving a possible reason WHY verizon charges to tether..

But you are correct. This app appears to be an "internet connection sharing" application, similar to PDANET or MobieShark, which allows you to "Share" your BB's data connection with your PC... and *IS* against VZW's terms of service for their standard Blackberry and PDA data plans.

From VZW's T's & C's when you try to sign up for the data plan...
Quote:
PDA/smartphone and BlackBerry® Plans: These VZEmail plans cannot be used: (1) for access to the Internet, intranets, or other data networks except as the device’s native applications and capabilities permit, unless you subscribe to BroadbandAccess Connect; or (2) for any applications that tether your device to laptops or personal computers other than for use of the Wireless Sync or the BlackBerry solution, unless you subscribe to BroadbandAccess Connect.
So if you know this, and are willing to accept any consequences that might arise from using it, go for it...

You have to read over your contract and read our EULA (Terms of Service | TetherBerry)
