Is this to work with your carrier or work around them

Now that we have our own thread to anyone who is trying the beta are you getting the uncaught exception error program will now close? I thought it was only happening when bb messages were coming through but it just did it again and I uninstalled messenger to test it. I have 2 storms I am going to activate the other storm and try the beta on that storm to see if its the phone. I think we all know each storm reacts differently to the same software. All the beta OS prove that.

Jstiner all good 3rd party applications are created to allow the phone to be used as the manufacture intended it to be used. If the carrier decides they want to limit the phones capabilities and charge extra for a service that the phone was built to do for free then the need for 3rd party applications is a must. This program is designed to work with the RIM device and the data plan we pay for through our carrier.

I've downloaded it and installed everything. As soon as I leave my house and don't have access to my WiFi I'll give this a go. Thanks for the chance to test it!

Wow, I feel like a dummy but can you please explain how this differs from the Verizon mobile broadband connection that they offer and do I still need to sign up with them in order for this to work? Sorry I am completely new at this topic and I’m not sure how it works and what fees are involved?
Thanks - 02-24-2009, 11:52 AM #20

ya same here, just signed up as well. would be really nice to test this out because they turn off the internet in my classrooms at school. if this program works, i would definitely be willing to kick in a few bucks to have freedom over the use of my computer and my phone. too much control these days.

Is there a new version since before the name change from Blackberry Internet Sharing to TetherBerry? I've been a beta tester for that. Do I need to update?

Just signed up, although I'm a little curious to know how this works without Verizon's Tethering Plan...

I created an account with your new website. However, clicking on the "My account" link takes you to a "404 file not found" error page.
