Default Storm users who play golf...

i got Greenfinder from the Blackberry site.

it seems pretty awesome although i haven't actually used it

i live in Ohio so it's too cold to hit the links

just wondering if anyone has experience with it and if it is comparable at all to a SkyCaddie

it's free for 5 rounds...then 35 bucks a year

link: GreenFinder - golf course GPS rangefinder

I was looking at Intelligolf's product (intelligolf.com). Their new v9.2 supports the Storm. It's a one-time purchase, and free course downloads. It also has a desktop portion to offload your scores and track them off-line.

However, like yourself, being in Kentucky, it's too dang cold!

I dreamed that this would be possible!! Instead of paying $300 for. Skycaddie I can use my
Storm on the Golf Course!! To bad I am in Montana and its 20 with a foot of snow. I will have
to wait till May I am jealous of anyone that can be golfing. Please post a review asap.

Got it installed and can't wait to give it a spin ... +1 on the warm but wet today, plus a winter cold so it was time with the 85 release

Damnit, it says no golf courses found. Hopefully they will add my course. Could
I still use thw app? It should at least give yardage after one time through. I guess
That defeats the purpose though without the course.

I've been using mscorecard. Great program to track your stats, but I can't get the GPS part of it to work. I shot them an email asking if future releases would support Verizon GPS, and ironically enough the guy pointed me to a Crackberry thread discussing Verizon GPS being locked. Still a great program even without the GPS function, in my opinion. Well worth the 20 bucks.

in spite of it not being approved by the USGA i would love to have a inexpensive prog that worked on the storm. My guess is that by spring time some developer will have one out that works well with the storm.

I used intelligolf v8. on my ppc. Very good program. Free course downloads were usually scorecards only though. They do have a great mapping app tied to google earth. I mapped my home course and it took about 30 mins. You do have to upgrade between major revisions( v7, v8, v9 etc) if you wnat to download any courses, but entering a scorecard manually only takes a few minutes. BTW here in montana it's 15 degrees this am with a foot of snow on the ground.

I have downloaded greenfinder and am playing today at 2o PM EST. Since I'm in Florida I have perfect golfing weather. I'll post after my round today but I played around with a course download this morning and it looks great!! I'll give my .02 after my round

cool, yeah man...let us know...

you know how golfers are...we are absolute addicts

and something like this could change our "golf world" forever

i've always been too cheap to buy a SkyCaddie and this appears to be practically the same thing

i looked into Intelligolf yesterday a bit....seemed a bit difficult to get rolling

i quit messing with it....their free trial couldn't be loaded onto my device

Well we are up to 35 and thw snow is melting fast. Awesome to hear intelligolf ties into google
Earth and I can map my golf course. I DL last night and seemed to work well.

You have to DL either the Birdie or Eagle free trial version to your PC, then unzip amd open
DM to app loader and click it! I cannot freak in wait to try it out!!
