Storm and MS Outlook
Hey people! My first thread on this got lost in the weeds with little response, but my problem still presists...
I have my Verizon BB Storm linked to my work email through BIS. When responding to emails from my desktop (MS Outlook), my Storm gets another orginal version of the email that I was responding to. It is not a copy of the sent email or a delivery confirmation... but a resend of the original email I was responding to. This is very annoying!
I've researched this through both Verizon and CB threads. I set filters to not receive emails from myself on BIS and the Verizon guy had me turn of delivery confirmation on my Storm email settings... yet the problem still exists. Interestingly enough, my Yahoo email account does not have this problem, only my work email through Outlook. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... never hurts to ask nicely! Thanks in advance. - 01-28-2009, 08:27 AM #2
I've heard this before w/ work emails coming through on BIS. What version of Outlook are you using?

BTW - if you open your messages, then menu - options - email reconciliation - is your wireless reconcile on or off?

Not sure if this will help, but have you tried using the redirector software for your work emails that are linked to Outlook instead of BIS. I am using BIS for my Hotmail and Yahoo accounts, and redirector for my Outlook emails and have had no problem. Only issue is that you have to keep the computer with Outlook turned on to be able to redirect your work emails.

I had the same problem with my Storm 9530 with my g-mail account. Try the following fix:
Log into your BIS account and set a filter to to your account so that it does not forward your sent items back to you.
Specific instructions can be found by typing the following in your search engine: blackberry Doc ID : KB10332. I am unable to give you a link to the blackerry support page on this topic as I am new to this forum and newbies are unable to place links in their messages. I hope this helps. - 01-28-2009, 03:00 PM

Guys, thanks for the responses... to answer the questions posed:
jh4for5: I am running Outlook 2007. Just to clarify... I have my emails for work set up through BIS not BES. We do not use an enterrpise server for our Blackberries. So this must mean that I am getting these through our webmail service.
As for the wireless reconcile... are you referring to on my Storm or on my desktop? If on the Storm... it is turned off.
BigDaddyNY: I have not used the redirector software... but am not keen on leaving my desktop on all the time. Other thoughts to fix this annoying issue?
Munkeeboy: Ain't it great to be a newbie? I set up my filters as well based on that thread you saw... it still didn't fix this for my work email...
Help!... anyone? Thanks! - 01-28-2009, 03:05 PM #7
Probably a dumb question but what does the reconciliation do?

You do have a BIS account, it was set up at Verizon when they put your gmail account on your phone. bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw. When mine was established somehow they didn't get the BIS log in info to me. I went to the site to log in and it wouldn't allow me. Ended up with tech support having to get me into the system the first time. You shouldn't have this problem. After that it is quite simple and should give you immediate resolution. Good Luck!
