Specific Vlingo Version?

If anyone doesn't want to go through Desktop Mgr, this thread has a link for an OTA download (posted 5/15/09, 7:25PM) so you can get it directly from your phone. I'd still download the one DriftDevil offered and save it on PC for "just in case" if nothing else!

Thanks! I've been scouring the boards for these downloads because I'm one of the unlucky ones that can't seem to get vlingo (any version) to work on my Tour. I love that app and miss/need it!

Someone will deff make a Tour version... its a must.

When I go through the setup wizard on the part where it tells me to hold the side key and say "concert tickets", when I try holding the button it gives me an error saying "Cannot record." Help?

Hey there thanks for mentioning that it did not work on your tour, have you found a version that works yet? I did not want to go through the run around today of installing versions. I have never used this software on any phone but I am curious to use it. I hope whatever version we find that works, does not require us to only be able to message users that only have vlingo themselves? Or have to buy a pro version...That is what I'm seeing from some of the posts here.

I've seen where some people are using vlingo 2.1 on the Tour OK, no issues. Myself and another member have had trouble, we keep getting Network timeouts. On mine, I press side key to say a voice command and it just hangs on the "listening" part, then I get the network timeout. Can't get it tweaked yet. Even 3.0 trial does that for me, so I'm thinking it's a setting on my phone, tho I've tweaked all important ones. (vlingo worked fine on Storm & Curve 8330).

Anyway, 2.1 is the last freebie released before it went to pay version (ver 3.0) spring of this year. On 2.1 you can message, call, email anyone, search web, do voice memos. It's only since they went to 3.0 did they limit communication to other vlingo users only. (Unless you pay, then you can send to anyone.) So even if you're curious, d/l 2.1 and save it to your PC so at least you've got a way to install later.

go to vlingo.com on your pc, click support and go into the FAQ there will be a section about reverting back to the old version, where they have OTA links for all systems listed. Make sure you follow the instruction and delete the new version first if you have it. =)

I owe you and driftdevil a big thank you. Between your directions and driftdevils link, I finally have the Vlingo 2.0 on my phone. I am so grateful. I could jump for joy. I've been trying to download the old files for at least a month. I'm a newb so sometimes it's hard to understand the lingo and follow the threads. Anyways I'm so excited and again thanks. You definitely helped.
