Remove SMS service but not MMS?

Is it possible to turn of the native BB SMS but leave MMS working, either through a service book edit or phone settings? I installed crunchSMS for the bubble type threading, but since it doesnt work for MMS I need to keep the native messenger service and the double SMS alerts are a PITA. I need to either remove BB SMS service alone or find another app that does the chat bubbles that works with MMS too.

if you go to security options and then firewall u can block sms messages and anything else that you want

cool, thanks. I'll give it a shot. Is it the same procedure for the Curve too? A friend has the same issue.

i think if you block SMS in the firewall section they still wont come through crunchSMS. i dont think there is anyway to have sms only go to crunch and not the stock sms app.

by the way, what os are you running? all os5 builds have threaded sms, so you must still be on os4.x? you really should update your phone.

the only way i see to "fix" the problem you have described is this:
go into your profiles, and select "Edit". crunchSMS should be listed to receive its own notifications. leave those setting alone. instead, go to the messages-sms and turn all notifications for sms off. that way you will only receive the one for crunchsms.
