poynt vs. bing
Well what do you guys thing about these two apps? I don't need both and they take up the memory on my phone.
So far poynt has a nicer interface and seems to run faster... But I want to see what the crackberry community feels about the two.
Thanks for any comments.

but you need VZW Nav. Poynt doesn't need to use that

I think Poynt has a better UI and it also lets you use BBMaps or GoogleMaps, instead of VZ Nav.
Also like the "reverse lookup" with Poynt.

I am liking this BING business! I added it to my quick launch and last night I was driving and I did a voice search for a business I needed to call and it pulled it right up! Then you just push the berry button and it gives the option to call that business and I did they had what I needed and then I had no idea how to find the place and it gave me directions by just selecting "get directions". I was like ok. I just got my 30$ worth right there for the month because I was like Yay!!!! The only minor issues was when I hit get directions it said from the same town that the business was in and I was in another town and all I had to do was hit find my (gps) location. Which took me all of a half second. I am hooked on it for things like that because I am forever lost!
I looked up the same thing on poynt and got nothing. I do like the movie times feature on it though and the fact that it has landscape mode. - 11-05-2009, 11:17 AM #7
I haven't tried the Bing app. Poynt has a nice UI but it sometimes does not find what I'm looking for even if it's a common place.

I like bing. I even got rid of Google maps and poynt and I don't think I've missed a thing. It's a good app.

but when i used poynt, it would give me turn by turn GPS. Bing doesn't have that

I personally would stick with Poynt, especially for the "reverse lookup" option. Its great for prank calls or just calls in general that you dont have saved in your contacts. And the fact that it allows you to use Google Maps is great. the GPS is almost perfect turn by turn. Watch as you go. LOL
POYNT me in the right direction.Last edited by Siny304; 11-10-2009 at 11:53 AM.
